. At first I thought this was acne because I have had cistic acne since I was nine. They rarely contain pus but drain with clear sticky fluid and I doubt it is acne. I have tried to pull the hair out to relieve the pressure
especially under his "armpits" and has temporary hair loss. After the patches heal, the hair grows back. I have been to many dermatologists and doctors and no one knows what is causing this and it is getting worse. I have been diagnosed with scarring alopetia which I think is incorrect. I am due to go in for blood tests again. I would like to know what you think this is and how it can be cured.
Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be folliculitis or cysts. Folliculitis is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles. The condition may occur anywhere on the skin. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph).
A culture sensitivity of the cystic discharge and a biopsy of the skin of the scalp will help in confirming the diagnosis and ruling out the conditions. My sincere advice would be to get a biopsy done from a dermatologist.
Hope it helps. Take care and regards.
