Hair fall

Hair fall

I am of Indian - asian origin, male and 19 years of age. I often find my scalp quite itchy and when I do go for a good scratch, I usually on average find that the source of the problem is a hair follicle or two which I would find uprooted in my hands with some kind of a deposit where the root should be. I was wondering if this is normal or whether there might be something causing irritation to my hair roots. Are hair that fall out of its place replaced by new ones or do those points stay empty after that. Thanks and have a nice day !

Hi

This may not be something serious. However, if there is some itchiness noted on the scalp, then we may have to consider seborrheic dermatitis or a fungal infection at this point. Seborrheic dermatitis is far more common. It causes what we commonly term as dandruff.
Are there any associated scaling or flaking on the scalp?

Hey Vanessa

Yes, there is flaking, about 2-3 days after oiling my hair and shampooing it off, I'm back where I started. Its kinda like a cycle.
