Hair loss and thyroid desease

by Ana2012, Oct 23, 2009 06:53PM
Noticed last years increased hair loss on top of head - tried new shampoos, cut hair shorter, changed eating habits... nothing seems to help. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

Hi,
Hair loss may be due to stress or illness such as hormonal changes, thyroid problems, certain medications, and infections. If you have a thyroid problem, the hair loss usually resolves by treatment of the thyroid disease. Can you elaborate on your thyroid disease? Talk to your doctor about this for proper management.

Take care and best regards.
