Hair loss young female...

Hi Doctor,
I am a 29-yr old female who has noticed some thinning at the front part of my hair. I have had bllodwork done and everything is normal, thyroid, etc. all in completely normal range. I'm not on birth control and am wodering what could be causing this. I ahve always had super thick hair and there are no balding women in my family. I am seeing a dermatologist next week.
Thank you for your help!

Hi,
Female pattern balding goes around the whole top of the head,it's diffuse as compared to males.
In women, it can happen at any time. In addition, underlying medical conditions can also be the cause of hair loss.
Some women can develop a temporary hair shedding problem known as telogen effluvium -- a change in the natural hair growth system that often follows childbirth, crash dieting, surgery, or a traumatic emotional event.
Since your blood work-up has been done it rules out medical causes for the hair loss.
You can go in for a a scalp biopsy.
After the results get in , then the appropriate treatment can be worked out.
