Hair loss

hello,

I am 21 yrs old and a female. I have been having some hair loss problems within the last few months. I am miserable because I feel like there is no hope for me. My dermatologist diagnosed me with telogen effluvium. I am using shampoo to re-grow my hair and drops to reduce inflammation. My TSH level came back a little high at 5.5, so now I am on thyroid meds (levothyroxin (levothyroxine)), thinking that maybe tha could be contributing to my hair loss. Just recently my eyelashes started falling out really easily, just if i rubbed my eye or was taking my make up off. Could all of this be related? Does anyone have any advice? or know what could possibly be wrong with me? I really need help. I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello,
From your symptoms alopecia totalis needs to be ruled out. In this there is hairfall of scalp as well as eyebrow and eyelashes. The cause is stress or some autoimmune disease. Please get it evaluated from your dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
