Hard bump on scrotum, something to worry about?

by WorrySpit, May 15, 2007 12:00AM
About 2-3 months ago I notice a small bump on my scrotum, a bit of a way down on the lest side, almost behind the testicle. Sorry I'm having trouble giving the exact location. Anyway, the bump is not usually itchy but can get a little painful if rubbed by the jeans. I notice the bump after I walked around all day in my new jeans and would usually notice it more after a day in the same pair of jeans. It seems that the this particular pair of jeans are rubbing my scrotum right where the bump is and I'm not sure if this was the cause or the result of the bump. I had some STD scare that was proven to be just a fault alarm a while back and still is a little panickly when I see something different down there. The bump got bigger this past weekend. Again, I was in the same pair of jeans. The bump has flesh color and protrudes out like pimple. Although, it has been around for a long time has not changed. Since it got bigger, I got freaked out a little. My first thought was that this was a pimple resulting from an ingrown hair. I get lots of that on my legs. What do you think this could be. Should I get rid of the jeans and wear something else. Right now it is quite uncomfortable-feels like a big fresh pimple as far as pain is concerned. No itching or burning, though. Thank yuu for your time.

It sounds like a cyst or ingrown hair, not an STD.  My advice is to leave the bump alone as much as possible and minimize friction by wearing loose-fitting clothes.  If it continues to annoy, see a doctor about it, but if it is no longer bothersome, only staying the same, just show it to your doctor next time you go.

Take care.

Thanks, Doc. The bump has not grown and the pain or irritation has lessen. The color changed to white, or a  lighter shade and now looks and feels very similar to a pimple. Hopefully it'll go away of falls off like a pimple too.
