Healed abrasion on penis

Healed abrasion on penis

Approximately six months ago, I entered an endurance cycling event. After the 100 mile race, I found blood coming from my glans (glands), my foreskin retracted had been rubbing on the seam of the lycra bib shorts I was wearing. They are now in the bin! I kept the area clean and used hydrocortisone cream to help heal it.

Now that the abrasion has healed I'm left with very small skin tags in the area where the abrasion occured. Is it safe to remove the skin tags by tying cotton around them until they drop off or should I leave the skin tags and just call it a battle wound? I'm happily married, have been together with my partner for 6 years have never been unfaithful and have never had a history of any STDs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

This could be due to trauma which could have caused breakage of capillaries lying just below the surface. Do not cause any further injury till the lesion has healed, which should take about 5-7 days. The discoloration may persist for a fortnight and change colors as the haemoglobin pigment undergoes changes.

Apply warm compresses,Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it.You  can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the spot persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.

Thanks for the advice kindd.

As the injury is six months old, I've had the skin tags for approximately 5 months - they don't seem to be changing in size or shape or multiplying - hence I don't feel the need to apply further ointment or compresses as the tags do not hurt or interfere with my sex life.

I've about thirteen of the small tags all smaller than the head of a pin and are not affecting me in any way other than cosmetically, hence the question of removing them. I hope I've made it a bit clearer and I appreciate any further information that you can offer!
