Help Please

by Deidier, Jan 06, 2008 12:07AM
I'm 24 year old female and I discovered a bald spot in the back of my head (the nape). I can't wear my hair in a pony tail or in any up dos because you would see the bald spot. I'm not sure what the issues is. My hair dresser said it could be from wearing a scarf every night but its silk. I did notice that my bald spot itches at times. Will/can the hair ever grow back?

Hi.
Alopecia areata is the sudden loss of hair associated with emotional disturbances or infections.  When the cause is addressed, the hair will grow back.
It would be best to consult a dermatologist for proper evaluation and management.
Good luck.
