Help with Vasculitis Diagnosis

Hi I went in for a routine dermatology appt to check some red lesions and after a biopsy found out i have Lymphocytic Vasculitis. I can't find anything on the web about it except for general vasculitis.
Is this an autoimmune disease and what may tie in to this, medications?

thank you

Thank you for sharing. I am very nervous about my appt with my rheumy as I was doing so well, although I still had leg and neck weakness that started a year ago after major meds and had the rash then too. Still weak, but better, and I stopped all meds. However, now that I have a skin diagnosis, year later, my rheumy may want me to try a cortiosteriod. I think I have a hypersensitivity to chemicals, allergens etc..What are you taking now? I also don't know which autoimmune disease I have for the past 5 years searching that answer. 6 months ago, my 2nd opinion doc did not agree with my rheumy about Spondylarthropathy.

I was dx with Leukocytoclastic vasculitis in 09/06 and have had the same issue as you. Vasculitis can be autoimmune, ideopathic, or a severe allergy. My problem has turned out to be ideopatic and chronic regardless of the meds. At the begining I went on a prednisone course for 2 months and was told I was cured...but come january it came back and has never gone away. Find yourself a good rhuematologist and get treated as aggressively as YOU and your dr decide and cross your fingers.

With any luck your labs with point to a specific cause, which makes treatment easier. Good Luck.
