Herpes, or just an infection?

by nervousman, Aug 30, 2004 12:00AM
Hello. I am an atheltic, straight 22 yr old male.I recently had sex with my girlfriend of a year and a half. We have unprotected sex. That day we had sex 3 times. The very next day, I saw alot small red spots on the head of my penis, and they developed into small red bumps. Before I started dating my girlfriend, I had unprotected sex with another female, and i developed almost the same pattern that I have now, but the doctor said that it was most likely a yeast infection that the girl had and passed it on to me. That time I had small red bumps on the head of my penis and developed into small white bumps and lasted about a week. Now, A couple weeks ago, after i finished having sex again a couple times, small red bumps appeared that were painful and a little itchy. They only lasted about 3-4 days, and it looked like they popped or dissolved into a white liquid that dried up and I had to peeled it off. Now, it is happening again, after we've had sex 3 times. I am afraid that it is Herpes. What is it?

I doubt it's herpes, but I can't tell for sure from your description.  What you need to do is to have a doctor examine it and perform a culture for relevant organisms.  Once you know for sure, you can either ignore these bumps if they recur, or do what's necessary.  Clogged porse seem more likely than either herpes or yeast, but again I can't say for certain sight unseen.

Best.
