Herpes Or Razor Burn?

by Blizzard800, Nov 21, 2005 12:00AM
Hello I have a few questions regarding possible STD infection.  About a month ago I recieved oral sex from a girl.  We did nothing else and she assured me she was clean ( although i know she may not have been aware of any)  It seems since than I have noticed a few things going on, im not positive whether or not they started after the sexual encounter or if i may just be scaring myself but wanted to get your opinion on a few things.  The first thing I have noticed is a bit of fatigue latelty and kind of run down feelings.  However i thought i could relate that directly to the fact that I am a college student and just recently ended a bad sleep cycle.  For about 2-3 weeks I was ina very bad sleeping cycle where i was staying up consistently until 6-7 even 8 AM, getting very little sleep than coming back and taking a nap.  I finally ended the cycle and began going to bed at reasonable times and figured the fatigue could simply be my bodys reaction to changing cycles and expecting a nap throughout the day but not getting one.  The next thing I have anoticed is several canker sores developed inside my mouth and on my tongue.  I have had few canker sores in the past but it seems in the past few weeks I had an unusual amount of them, some quite painful during eating.  I read in many places however canker sores can be a direct cause of poor sleep so i thought possibly the 2 symptoms could be linked together.  Having recived oral sex from a girl would it be likekly i develop HSV-1?  I always thought canker sores were not related to STD's at all, only cold sores.  The last thing I have noticed which has scared me the most is several small red blister like bumps on my scrotum.  I can seem to faintlly remeber maybe one or two being there in the past which i always figured were from accidental nicking during shaving but it seems they have kinda of become more numerous lately.  They dont really itch and dont cause any pain, there kind of just there and scaring me :)  I can recal nicking myself with an electric shaver at least once or twice, could these be a result of my scrotums skin reacting to a cut?  They are just small redish/pinkish, dont really pussor anytihng, again just kind of there and have been for at least 3 or more weeks i believe.  I have no marks what so ever on my penis, no pain, discharge, anything like that. Do any of these symptoms sounds like apossible STD infection or am i worrying myself to much?  I always thouhgt oral sex STD transmission was very low is this true?  And lastly just curious, if i did recieve an STD of any kind, what would cause it to develpo blister, ect on my scrotum which was not touched, rather than my penis?  Thank you so much for any input

I think you are worrying too much.  These symptoms don;t sound like herpes or an STD.  My advice is to let a doctor see these "red blister like bumps" on your scrotum.  Canker sores inside the mouth are usually not herpes, type 1 or 2--herpes occurs at the lip margin.  Let a doctor look at those too.  Also, try to get some sleep.

Best.
