Herpes fear

by heythere1980, Dec 05, 2004 12:00AM
Hi there,
I have two small raised red areas that look somewhat like blisters - one is on my lower stomach and the other is just above my groin in the pubic hair area.
Both are sensitive and somewhat itchy.
The one on my stomach has been there for at least a  week and the form hasn't really changed and the other I have noticed for the past couple of days. It looks very similar to the stomach one.
I am really scared this might be Herpes, though I don't have a cluster of red spots that archives seem to suggest are consistent with Herpes. Also, there are no sores or red spots or anything on the actual genital area.
Is it possible this is folliculitis, as both spots are in areas where there is body hair (I am a male). I have been working out a lot lately and wondering maybe if this stuff can be caused by sweat.
Thank you for your time

Herpes blisters are clustered, as you say, not one here and one there.  I think folliculitis is a much better bet.  Sweat could contribute.  Don't scratch, apply bacitracin once or twice a day, and show a doctor if they don't go away in 7-10 days or if they keep recurring despite your not rubbing them.

Take care.

My guess is an ingrown hair.

I have a clear blister inside my mouth (lip - inside, close to gum) which I'm wondering if it is herpes related. It is about 4mm in diameter and is completely painless. It came up rather quickly - but it is NOT going away. I've had it now for about 6 days. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm concerend. Since the formation of this blister I have not gone to see a doctor about it nor have I been tested for any STDs. I'm not quite alarmed because it's not an open sore, nor painful. Any ideas / suggestions?

I got one blister above my groin area, where my pubic hair is.  It appeared a day after I had sexual intercourse.  It went away within a couple of days, but it returned about 2 weeks later.  It's been about 2 months now and it hasn't returned, but it's still red on that area.  Now, I have what seems to be a pimple on my lower buttock.  Could this possibly be herpes?
