Herpes or in grown hair

So 2 days ago I noticed a bump under the skin in my vagina area on the right lip. Yesterday, it became red, and protruding and very painful. Today it's the same, red and painful. Is this an ingrown hair or herpes? I have been with the same man for 5 years now and we are married. I'm doubting herpes because I haven't had this in the past. Can herpes lie dormant for 6 years and then decide to show up as the first appearance?

yes it can. herpes looks more like a wart and a ingrown hair hurts at the slightest touch. If u ban see like an open sore on it and its scabby than it might be herpes.
Herpes only shows up when they flare. Sometimes ppl haxe it and NEVER kno! If that is the case then u or him mite have had it and never seen 1 so  u never knew. Even tho u cant see em, they can still b passed. Your best bet is 2 see a DR.
