Herpes?

by NickW, Sep 28, 2005 12:00AM
I've been with my girlfriend for almost 2 years now and she was checked for STD's roughly a year ago which came back as negative. This was about 6-7 months after we started having unprotected vaginal and oral sex. HOWEVER, about 2 months ago I had about 2 minutes of unprotected oral sex and about 2 minutes (was too drunk to continue) of protected sex.

Fast forward to 3 days ago when my girlfriend and I had sex for the first time in about 2 weeks. Well, she wasn't very lubricated and we kinda just forced me in after several attempts, which was somewhat painful on both parts. The next morning we had sex 2 more times and again they weren't the most easy of entry. Later that day I had some itch on my penis, but I brushed it off. It continued all day and started to worry me. I did some inspecting to find 1 or 2 small pimple looking bumps on the wrinkled skin directly below the head. They were small and red, they did not hurt, but they itched BAD!

They have been itching for the past 2 days, not super bad, but bad enough to make me notice every now-and-then. They have not formed blisters and they aren't painful, but I did some research on herpes and it got me scared! They don't secrete any liquid as far as I can tell and they look to be somewhat scabbed over already. The thing that worries me the most is that my lymph nodes in my groin area are kinda swollen and tender and that I've had some cold like symptoms. The cold symptoms aren't bad and we've been having alot of weather changes lately around my area.

So Basically, could these couple little bumps that itch, but don't hurt, my swollen lymph nodes and hint of cold like symptoms be because of genital herpes? Could this just be irritation? Maybe a small scrape?

Doesn't sound like herpes to me--sounds like blocked pores from friction.  I don;t know what to make of your swollen glands--perhaps they aren't actually swollen, but you're just paying attention to them because you're worried.  Leave the spots alone and let a doctor take a look at the penis and glands.  I don't think you'll be getting any bad news.

Best.

This morning I noticed some blister like irritations on my boyfriends penis. He cut himself up shaving with a bad razor over a month and a half ago, but it didn't look like it could be from that. They are only located at the very base of his penis, kind of hidden by the hair, but there are also quite a few on his body, right near the base of the penis.  They are rather dark in color, and appear not to be new, meaning that they dont really look irritated. What could they be? I have zero knowledge of what any type of disease down there may look like?

Thank you doctor. Today the bumps have not itched much at all. I'll keep a watchfull eye on them and see how they turn-out in afew days. Still no pain, no blistering, no secreting..just little bumps.

I have a little lump on my lip that looks like it is going up and down like it has its own little heart beat or something? It is painless and doesn't itch? What do you think it is?

This might be a pimple, a cord sore, a ingrown hair, or a cyst or boil. None of these are very serious, but if it bothers you and wont go away, talk to your doctor about it. Its always ebtter to be safe than sorry right?

If you sleep with someone with herpes and you have no open cuts/sores/etc can herpes be spread still?  If you sleep with someone with herpes is there anything you should do after you sleep with them?  Like have a shower or...?  Any info appreciated!  Also if you use lube+condom and the herpes infected individual shows no signs(outbreaks, etc)at the time of sexual intercourse what are your chances of getting herpes?  Not likely?  Very likely?  You shouldn't take the chance...?

I have had a lip irriation for a few months now.  It feels like localized burning, sore, chapped lips.  I asked my doctor who said that it could be stress.  However since seeing him, with no sign of relief, I have also developed what feels like glands swollen in my lower lip.  Not on the lip, but further towards the chin, under the skin, where I imagine salivary glands to be.  The pain comes and goes, but there are no blisters.   My lips peal daily.  Could this be thrush? An allergy?  Fungus or Mold?  Cancer? Help, I’m stumped and apparently so is my doctor.  I use Lip Medex, but it doesn’t seem to be helping.  Its driving me nuts, and now I’m fixating on it!
