Hive breakout on inner thighs

I have been experiencing bodily hive breakouts unlike anything I have had before.  My hives used to be limited to my face, neck, arms and chest.  Now, they are appearing all over my back, sides, legs, stomach, etc.  The frequency has increased as well as the actual size of the patches and the size of the formations.  My latest breakout appeared exclusively on my inner thighs.  What might this be related to?  A simple dose of Benadryl or Benadryl Gel has alleviated the symptoms but I am curious about the reason for the onset.  Thank you for your time!

Hi,

You could take some oral antihistamine or antiallergic medications like loratadine or cetrizine and see if it helps with your symptoms. Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions to help soothe the itching.

Have you had allergic reactions in the past? Are you allergic to any specific substances?

You could read more about the condition at the following link -

You would still need to consult your doctor about the associated symptoms you are having and to rule out any vitamin or mineral deficiency or bacterial or fungal infection or hormonal dysfunction and whether you need a course of antibiotics or other medications.

Let us know about how you are doing and post us about what your doctor advises.

Post us if you need any further information.

Regards.

Shift I have been told by my doctors that the hives can come from stress, body temperature change or just an allergic reaction to medication, soaps, lotion or even foods.  Hope this helps and I hope you don't have chronic hives like me.
