Hives

I'm breaking out into hive for a month and a half now.  I have never had a problem with hives before.
I'm 35 yrs old, the worst area is on  my scalp and on my bottom will flare up so badly, it's almost unbarable..Taking Benadryl daily to relief the burning itch..I'm now on Aerius 5mg. It seems to hit me after i eat. I decided to go Gluten Free for the last month now, which has helped alot. But i still seem to break out daily, but I'm now able to tolerate it..I tested myself after day 13 being Gluten free, with eatting Pizza crust, within mins. my face broke out into a hot red hive, and on my chest:(
But even though I'm gluten free now whch has helped alot, ts not going away.. still little flare ups everyday..
So i question if, this is the problem, or my skin is seriously stressed out :(

This discussion is related to Bumps on thighs, sometimes appear on arm etc.

Hi,
As mentioned from the other post, allergy testing may be done to determine the specific trigger/s and to determine the management plan for your treatment. While there are many possible triggers for hives, food is very common including that of gluten intolerance and may occur with other triggers. It is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.

Hello,
The most likely triggers for acute urticaria (hives) are allergies, allergies to medicines,Viral infections, , dental and sinus infections, fungal infections, blood transfusions and vaccines. But sometimes hives may be idiopathic.
The standard treatment of hives is oral antihistaminics and topical steroids. Oral antihistaminics relieve itching and you can get them over the counter but some of them may cause drowsiness and moreover since your child is just 2 years old, hence it should be taken under a medical guidance. Topical steroids is available by prescription from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
