Holes in Skin?

Holes in Skin?

So I've never really had acne problems before. I scar really easy, so I try to be careful when I do get any kind of acne or skin problem. Just recently, I've notice these..."pimple" like things. They're had to describe, alls i know is that they've turned into "holes" in my skin. It's embarassing, but there is quite a few. I have one on my breast, like three on my shoulder, and more on my butt. I'm not sure what to do, and it doesn't seem as if they are healing. Can anyone offer any suggestions? i'd really appreciate it.

Hello,
It can be a sebaceous cyst. A sebaceous cyst may occur anywhere on body but scalp, ears, back, face, and upper arm, are common sites for sebaceous cysts. Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles and excessive testosterone production will cause such cysts.

Generally no treatment is required but they become painful then it means they are infected, then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required. Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.

Thanks....I looked up pictures of those, and oddly enough what I have looks nothing like it. So, I'm slightly confused. I don't have the money to go to a doctor...i'm already in debt for other medical bills. Do you think maybe it could have started out as regular acne and turned into an infection? I'm a really slow healer, and anemic. I have lack of vitamin K, and I bruise really easy...i've been putting neosporin on all the areas and they seem to be gettin better.

Hello,
If Neosporin is making it well, then chances of this being folliculitis are there which is due to infected hair follicles. Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Warm regards.
