How should I treat this for tonight?

Hi, I can't go to the student health center until tomorrow and I need some urgent advice. I've had this acne type infection on my chin for a year. I've been to the campus dermatologist once and the nurse twice and have been taking doxy antibiotics and using different topical antibiotic creams but last night an entire huge growth came out and I'm really freaked out about what to do. It's been frustrating over the last year to get anyone to really take me seriously about the severity of this but even I had no idea this infection was as deep as it was. The skin all around hollow hole is completely solidified now and it didn't even bleed! Again, it's really deep and it's somewhat sore and aches now and there is more infection around the base and sides of the hole and other areas on the chin. I don't know what kind of infection this is; the primary one was solid and in one place but there has been spreading of infection under the skin in my chin/neck that has not been localized but moving around.

I have pictures I would like to send and I really would like to know what I should do to treat this for tonight... what should I put on it and should I keep it moist or dry or pack it with anything. Thanks!

After reading your post and looking at the picture you attached, it seems like you have Acne nodulocystica (more severe form of acne) with possible bacterial superinfection (additional bacterial infection often caused by patient’s attempts to release the content of the nodules/cysts).

Clinical status of this sort requires immediate attention of your physician who will take thorough history, perform detailed physical examination and other diagnostics (such as skin bacteriology), create and execute effective oral and topical treatment plan.

Please, do not postpone your visit to a physician. Cosmetic and over-the counter acne products and anti-inflammatories will hardly be sufficient.

Yours in optimal health,
Dr. Jasmina Jankicevic
