HPV viruses that can cause changes in the cells of the cervix and cause them to become dysplastic are high risk HPV. The strains of HPV that are high risk are HPV types 16, 18, 31, 33, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66, 68, and 73. HPV types 6 and 11 that typically cause venereal warts are low risk viruses and do not show any potential of showing cellular dysplasia. So if you are showing HPV warts, then it is low risk viruses.
Folliculitis is not concerned with HPV warts but is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles. It starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph).
Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
