Hypopigmentation

Since i were a child i suffered from hyperpigmentation and a doctor recommended that i do laser resurfacing to lighten to dark spots., but now i have white spots which were the result of the treatment. Now i have to find a treatment for hypopigmentation but i was told that there is no such treatment...is that true?

Hello,
You have what is called postinflammatory hypopigmentation.  This means that inflammation from the laser treatment caused the body to lessen pigment production.  Although this type of skin problem is very difficult to treat, but you can try Elidel cream or Protropic ointment on these hypopigmented areas. If the symptoms still persist then  you can talk to your dermatologist about laser-assisted chemabrasion(LACA).It has provided excellent results in such hypopigmentation.

I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
