and it is just on the right side. I noticed it when she was 5 months old. Both is growing along with her and she is 16 months now. We took her to a dermatologist and she did a Woods Lamp test and said that is Nevus
Depigmentosus. She said that she is ruling out Vitiligo as it is not Chalk white under Woods lamp. Rather it was off white. She said that since it is Nevus
Depigmentosus, there is no treatment and that I should not worry about it. She asked me to come for a follow up visit in 6 months. Want to check if this is ok? Is Vitiligo ruled out completely? I am really anxious and want some peace of mind. Please let me know what you think.
Hello,
Nevus depigmentosus can be easily differentiated from vitiligo. It is usually found at birth and size may grow in proportion to growth of the body. Nothing is to be done. If cosmetically unpleasant then laser treatment can be planned when she grows up.
