and it hurts cause the skin cracks but it doesnt always bleed. Well, thats what i assume happened, so i went to check in the mirror. and my lips look completely normal. so lend in super close to the mirror and stretched my lips to see if i could see anything. There was this really really small white line (white like when your lips are chap you can a little skin peeling off and it's white, you know what i mean.) or something, there. it probably is just a crack, but i'm freaking out that it might be a cold sore. I've never had a cold sore before and i really really do not want one.
I'm not sure if it is or isnt. So my question is, is it a cold sore?
It doesnt look like one, when i dun stretch my mouth or anything and jus simply smile or have my lips in a neutral expression, you cant even see it. its small, which why i cant see very what exactly it is. There are no blisters, no pain, no burning, no stinging, nothing. its perfectly normal. it look nothing a cold sore, so i dunno. i'm really worried, because i absolutely dont want one
and also, there this tiny tiny white dot on my lip. and i dunno what it is. there are tones, its just one tiny thing. like just a dot. like a period at the end of a sentence, but of course it bigger than that because if some thing was that tiny i don't think i'd see it on my lip. smaller than this ● but bigger than a period. it doesnt hurt, or anything at all really. if i was checking out my lip because i was freaking out i wouldn't have even noticed it. The lip has never ever felt tingly, burning or stinging or any symptoms of a cold sore. but i'm still worried.
so i wanna know, are there cold sores?
((if there are lot of grammar/spelling errors, please forgive me. i was rushing when i wrote this. there may even be missing words.))
Hello,
Since there are no blisters, so chances of a cold sore are less. Pain, burning, tingling, or itching occurs at the infection site before the sores appear. Then clusters of blisters erupt which break down. It can be due to a canker sore inside the border of lip which may be causing this pain. Since you are wearing braces, so it is common for the lips to get injured because of them.
Avoid spicy or acidic foods during this time. You can use topical ointments like numbing ointments, such as benzocaine (Oragel), anti-inflammatory (steroid) gels, benadryl allergy liquid mouthwash, oral preparations of steroids and vitamin supplements.
But if the symptoms persist then please consult a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
BTW, when i say "smaller than this ● but bigger than a period." -well i wanted to say that not only is that little white do that sized, but so this the little crack/line thing.

Thanks but i just noticed something else. What i mentioned previously has gone away and i dun think that was a cold sore but i think this i might have one. I know i may sound a bit like the boy who cried wolf but, i just REALLY REALLY REALLY dun want one because i'm well aware that it's a virus, so it will stay with me forever. :(
but i noticed pretty close to the corner of my mouth jus a couple of hours ago that there is slightly more red bump on it. its pretty small. it does NOT look anything like this:

but i'm still afraid because it doesnt look just "nothing" either. my boyfriend is making sure he doesnt kiss me until we know for sure what it is
But before that i remember my mom said i had really dry lips, and like i said i usually do have dry lips. I'm completely unsure what this is! I haven't felt any tingling, burning, numbness or any weird feelings in my lip. And the only person i've ever kissed in my life is my boyfriend and he is absolutely sure that he hasnt had a coldsore and he never has in his life. Neither have i until... now?? i dunno!!
if it IS a cold sore than this is my first because i remember clearly i've never ever had one in my life.
So my questions are, do i have a cold sore? is it likely i do or unlikely?
what are the symptoms of a cold sore? Do you always have to have symptoms before they appear? How can i tell FOR SURE if i have one or not? If it is a cold sore than how if it even possible to catch one without kissing anybody with one?
