I get a lot of hives that travel what could it be?

by Jdense, Jul 24, 2009 07:35PM
The hives have been here for a couple of years now.  I have scars  all over my body. It almost looks like chicken pox. Sometimes  I  also feel like something is crawlin on my face yet I cant see anything. Also I have dark circles under my eyes. Could this be something major or what can I possibly do. I am also alergic (allergic) to soaps i have not been able to find anyone that doesnt make me itch. I gone to the health store, doctors and nothing.  could it also be my hormones? my gums in my mouth have grown and the dentist said that it  could be some soard of skin disorder. She said she had never seen gums like that. Only people who have seizures I donot have any of these things wrong with me. so I am thinking it is something all connected.

Hello,
I see that you are having the problem of chronic urticaria. It is defined as urticaria that persists for longer than 6 weeks. In most of the cases of chronic urticaria, the underlying pathology is idiopathic i.e it is not linked to any cause. It is essential to rule out the presence of serious illnesses of which recurring hives can be a symptom. Examples are hepatitis, hyperthyroidism, lymphomas, collagen vascular diseases, and cancers of the rectum, kidneys and gastrointestinal tract. Chronic infections such as chronic sinusitis can be associated with urticaria.

I feel that you should find out the cause of your chronic urticaria by ruling out the various conditions causing it.

Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
