I have a lump on my eyelid

by cherie, Nov 07, 2002 12:00AM
I have a painless flesh colored growth on my eyelid under my eyelashes.  It is only clearly visible when my pupil is under it(it is not on the inside of my eyelid but on the smooth part under my lashes).  I am concerned that it is basal cell skin cancer, but my doctor keeps brushing it off as a skin tag.  I have never seen anything like this in anyone elses eye.  I don't know how long it has been there i noticed it in April of this year.  I am 31 years old.  Have you ever heard of this?  Should I see another doctor?  Thanks for any help you can provide. Your doctor is probably right.  Cysts and tags can certainly appear there, and at your age are much more common than basal cells.

These are easy to remove, so you can look into that with a skin doctor if you're uncomfortable and want another opinion.

Best.

Last week i had this red hard bump appear under my left eye. I didnt think it was a big deal. Thought it was acne or something. Well a few days ago, i developed another red bump almost exactly where the other one was except under my right eye. But the weird thing is that this bump has moved. I thought it was my imagination but it has slowly moved closer to the inside corner of my right eye. I had my husband try to pop it to see if it was a pimple, cause i was worried about it cause it was painful. Well when he tried it caused bad pain to shoot up my eye towards the inner side of the eye and up in the brow area. I have gotten bumps like this before but on my cheek bones. They are real red and very hard. They are about the size of a tip of a pencil eraser (as round). Now i have a very small red line that runs up the inside of my eye (the the eye itself but the skin on the outside) and it still hurts a tad bit. I was wondering if anyone knew what that might be??? I figured it was acne or an allergy bump of some sort or something... but now i am kinda worried... what could it possibly be???

I had a painless flesh colored "skin tag" on my eyelid halfway between the roots of my eyelashes and the roots of my eyebrow. It was the size of the tip of the sharpened lead in a pencil. When my eyes were open, it would peak out thru my eyelashes. Every year I would swab it with alchohol, tie it off with dental floss, it would bleed, and in a week or so you couldnt tell it had been there. But it would always come back within a year or so. Finally saw derm. who said it was a wart and it was frozen off with liquid nitrogen, I believe. I was skeptical, never having had warts, but its never come back :-)
