I have itching all over my body

Good evening,

I am 40 years old and i have itching all over my body but nothing in my genitals and armpits.

I visited a dermatologist and he did not find any cause. He told me is not a psoriasis! The doctor didn't mention anything about blood tests in order to identify any cause.

Then, he wrote me a prescription which includes:
1) Advantan methylprednisolone aceponate which I mixed it with Bepanthol cream, put it all over my body, once daily(at night)
2) Xyzal tablets, one tablet 5mg at bed time,
3) Travocort cream for my genitals and armpits (for some funguses at my genitals and armpits caused by sweat),to use it once daily for 20days,
4) Vitamin dermina Powder, to use it once daily(in the morning),
5) Vitermina 3 (for wash my body).
I am using all the above for 6 days but I still have itching all over my body EXCEPT at my genitals and armpits. I did not change my eating habits or my lifestyle and did not change any kind of soap or liquid using for bath or washing powder for my cloths!

I don't believe that this coming from stress because when i am relaxed and when I wake up in the morning I still have itching!

Today, I informed my dermatologist and he told me to double the Xyzal tablets, one tablet 5mg in the morning and one tablet 5mg at bed time.

HE TOLD ME TO WAIT TILL MONDAY AND IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS THEN HE WILL GIVE ME A CAUSTIC LIQUID. He told me that is no need to go for blood analysis. Also he told me, at the moment he do not want to start a treatment with Cortisone medication.

I suffer day and night! What to do? Please advice!

The inchiness does not happen always and MyBlood Glucose is H b A1 c 5.9% mean glucose level 122mg/dl.

I am willing to visit other doctors such as: a pathologist, a diabetologist, a cardiologist in order to prescribe me all kind of blood test which might be related to my problem!

What you suggest? Please advice!

Thanks, i am using Simple soap or Simple liquid in order to avoid skin dryness.  Now, I started Zyrtex tablets instead of Xyzal but I think are useless! I should be speak with my pharmacist and try Benadryl. The inchiness does not happens always. MyBlood Glucose in the morning before eat is: 122 - 128  mg/dL.  I should take a second opinion and go for blood tests analysis!

Thanks a lot!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

Itchy skin all over the body can be due to dry skin. Skin conditions like psoriasis, dermatitis, lice, scabies and hives, internal diseases like liver and kidney disorders ,diabetes, iron deficiency anemia, irritation and allergic reactions to chemicals, wool, soaps ,cosmetics and certain foods  can cause itchy skin.

You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area. Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl can also be used. You should take a comfortably cool bath and wear smooth-textured cotton clothing. Covering the affected area with bandages and dressings can help protect the skin and prevent scratching. You should choose mild soaps without dyes or perfumes and use a mild, unscented laundry detergent when washing clothes, towels and bedding.

Please take a second opinion from a dermatologist if the symptoms persist.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
