I think I can see through my skin??!!

Hi. Very recently I have become every more pale then I usually am. To make matters worse, I can now see what looks like loads of white blobs that look like they are under my skin. Imagine london underground commuting and that what it appears like only with white blobs which I estimate by looking at them on average 2mm in diameter. It looks really weird and its all over my body. On parts of my body, my veins are showing up really clearly. Any ideas on what it is.

Hi,

I do understand your concern. This does sound discomforting. Have you had this assessed by a physician already?

I suggest you seek consult with a physician. Thyroid problems may manifest as skin conditions. You have also mentioned of yellowing of your skin. This way, you may need further evaluation in terms of liver problems which may cause jaundice ,a condition which leads to yellowing of the skin. Blood tests may be done to assess levels of vitamin B6 and B12, if indicated.

An objective evaluation of your condition is necessary. At this point, in the absence of other associated symptoms like headaches, loss of balance, burning and tingling sensation in the extremities, this may not need urgent intervention.

Thanks for your reply.
So far, I think i've been able to atribute this to my diet. It only seems to appear after i've eaten something and then the white blobs start appearing. At first they appear to be moving, then they stop and just stay there for a long while and then gradually merge into each other. Also, this is when my skin become even more pale and has actually began to get a slightly yellow ting.

This has only been happening recently, but I have also found that my hair has become so thin, it makes me think my hair is falling out. Although my hair has always seemed limp, it has only recently become what I would think as severe and is extremely discomforting. I have also noticed that my scalp is white and looks that same shade as my bath. I don't think this is dandruff as it's not itchy and there arn't any flakes. I also have white spots appearing in my nails. I've had these for years, but they have gradually been getting worse.

I'm wondering whether this all is based on my diet, which is very bad and doesn't help from the fact that I have barely any appetite at the moment, although I do take supplements in omega 3, vitamins and minerals and amino acids. The vitamin and mineral supplements gives me 100% RDA of all the vitamins and most minerals (iron, zinc, etc) but not all. One point to make is that I think I may be getting large quantities of B vitamins as they are not only in my supplement, but are also added to some of the things I eat and I drink alot of those carbonated caffine red bull derivatives because I feel fatigued a lot of the time. Could I be deficient in a certain type of mineral, could my body have trouble absorbing something or could this be a disease?

Hi,

At this point,it is not easy to define your condition. The best way is to have this objectively assessed. What you describe may only be true to you but a physician's assessment is needed to help confirm what you are experiencing.

Are there other associated symptoms like itchiness, joint pains, headaches, difficulty sleeping lately?

Is there ay sign of increased stress lately at home and at work?

I suggest that you have a consult done by your primary physician. This may not be something urgent but to allay your worries and fears an initial and objective assessment will help.
