Iching and Pimples?

by Neb, May 31, 2001 12:00AM
I am 27 and in good health, over the last year I have experienced several cases of severe itching behind my knees, and on my genitalia always occurring in both places. the itching last for several weeks then goes away for a while only to return. I have used eucirin cream and also jock itch medicine with only a little comfort. In addition when the itching first started shortly after I developed a pimple like bump on the head of my penis, then after a few months I have developed several more. these bumps do not have any head, or excretion when squeezed, they have no other symptons associated with them itching, etc..also more then pimples they look like bubbles in the skin, the original one I noticed 8 months ago or so has not gone away although it is smaller and less noticible but the new ones range in sixe and a few are very noticable. They do not look like anything associated with an std, and I have been in a monogmous marriage for 3 years. Any suggestions on the itching, and these bubbles would be greatly appreciated.

Hard to say without looking.  The ich may be mild eczema.  As for the pimples, perhaps clogged pores.  STD seems unlikely on many grounds.  I would try using an OTC anti-itch preparation like Sarnol-HC, as needed.  Keep the skin and genitals lubricated (any lotion will do.)  If symptoms persist, as they say, call your doctor.

Best.
