My 2 year old son has psoriasis and I apply locoid lipocream to the affected areas daily. I am concerned that because it is hydrocortisone butrate it will have a long term effect on his skin. I have read horrible stories about it thinning out the skin and making the areas worse. What is your opinion? It is only 0.1% but he is only 2 and his skin is still very sensitive.
Locoid lipocream works very well for psoriasis in children. Another alternate is topical calcipotriene which is used in combination with a very low dose steroid. You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Apart from this keeping the skin moisturized and exposure to sunshine also helps.
