Infection re: Man of War jelly fish Stings

by athome34, Apr 12, 2009 04:08AM
Dear M.D., I am inquiring as to the possibility of long range skin( internal and external) infection or infestation from  severe snd untreated  Man of War Jellfish stings. In 2001 I was stung extensively on my upper right (arm, ribs, neck, face and lips. No treatment was available due to remote local. Purplish blue pieces of it embeded in said places. I was recovered from the intense numbness and stings when we returned to Mauai HA. I returned to Canada. Lesions ( oral and gential ) began to develop. Orally they felt as if there was a hard material beneath them. I had fevers to 105, passed clear mucous globs from the GI tract, had many undiagnosed ,to type, UT infections, bad chest infections, serve sore thraots, painful tingling palate, and muscle pain. I was diagnosed with Behcets' disease.I am of  Celtic decent.  I also had and have right sided breast and lung lesions. As of 2 years ago the lesions opened in the mouth. Now, material enters my palate from behind upper W teeth, is organized, lays a network on palate, numbs +stings R side of face+.digs into palate. PLS Help.  The material is now pouring onto my palate and I am not able to withstand it anymore. I was laughed out of ER. I only have a clinic resident for family care. A dentist did Velscope the palate and found abnormal tissue in 3 lesions. I am not being treated and am seen as a  Behcets' patient. There is not one person who believes I have the afore mentioned palate problem and now skin  infections, shown as crusted changes with odd material which erupts at times. It is not believed as it is deemed not possible. I can't thus get a ref to an ENT, et al. Please, can you provide any information as to the possiblity of this problem existing from the Man of War sting. I am willing to go anywhere in the USA for care, but am very ill by now and need a starting point. Sincerely, athome34
