I have a 14 month old baby who fell learning to walk and had to get 5 stitches on his eyebrow. About 10 days later he had the stitches removed and about 3 days after that I noticed an irritation just above the brow. It was circular so my initial thought was that it was ring worm but after consulting the surgeon as well as a dermotologist, they both said it was not likely to be fungal but an inflammitory reaction
to something in theatre.
The Dermo prescribed Synalar N which I used and after 3 days the irritation was virtually gone. Once I had stopped the ointment the irritation came back and more aggressively. I was told by the Dermo to use the the Synalar N again and once the irritation is gone I must used Advantan Milk
Hello,
Synalar N and Advantan both contain corticosteroids. Since the rash has come back so it means that either the diagnosis is something different or the creams are not potent itself. I suggest you to get a small shave biopsy or scrapings of the area done and get it examined histopatholigically so that the diagnosis can be confirmed before trying out any further medicines.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
