Ingrown Hair?

The other day I noticed that located in my pubic area and on my male "organ" there were these small "razor" bumps. They do seem like ingrown hairs, but there are so many of them. (40-50) They do not have a hair exposed nor do they resemble a pimple. They go quite far up and stop about half way. What could they be? I do a lot of biking with spandex biking shorts and also wear compression shorts for a variety of sports. They have been there for about 5 months now and have been increasing in number. I have had NO sexual intercourse and have had no relationships in that manner. Any help would be appreciated, hope I've given enough information.

I cannot confirm anything without examination but it sounds like folliculitis. Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.
