Ingrown Pubic Hair

I have discovered a ingrown hair that looks like a pimple on the top of my pubic area, it was sore for about two days and it had a white head on it, similiar to a pimple. I popped it and a white puss came out of it, blood following after. Then the same spot had started to feel like it had a knot in it, and was very painful to the touch. That night i noticed that it had a white head on it again, so i popped it and puss and blood came out again. Is this an Ingrown Hair? Could it be an Std, which i have only slept with my fiance for the past two years. I have never had one of these things in my entire life and it is starting to freak me out. Please help me.

It can be infected hair follicles, folliculitis or boils. Folliculitis starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph).

Apply warm compresses, Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it.You  can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Also wear cotton clothes and apply topical antiseptics. If the symptoms persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist. It may need incision and drainage.
