Ingrown hair help

Hi,

I have had what I think is an ingrown hair on the side of my penis for the past 3 days. It doesn't hurt and is just 1 single bump. I'm not sexually active and not sure what to do. I recently shaved around this area about 1-2 weeks ago, and I'm just wondering if I should get it checked out, or if these things sort themselves out. There is no hair looping around and going back in so I can't get it out with a sterilized needle...

It's obviously embarrassing and any help is greatly appreciated.

Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub, folliculitis or cyst.  
Apply warm compresses, Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You  can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the lumps persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
