Ingrown hair pimples

Ingrown hair pimples

Hello,

On the backs of my arms I have small red spots that I have been told by a Dr are caused by fine hairs that cannot push through my skin.
I was advised to loofah my skin each day in order to allow the hair to come through.
I loofah everyday but these dots are still persisting.
They are not itchy or as big as pimples but bother me as they have been there for years and do not look avery attractive.
Incidentally (or not) during summer if I am in the sun for a while these spots seem to disappear but then come back during the cooler months.
What else can I do to try to remove these spots, are there any natural products that would work?

Thank you

Hi,

This may be a case of pseudofolliculitis. You may seek consult with a cosmetic dermatologist for assessment .You may discuss with the dermatologist the advantages of  laser therapy. This may cost more but other modes of treatment like topical and oral medications may only give temporary relief.

Other differentials would be contact dermatitis or irritant dermatitis.

It is best to seek second opinion. If this appears to provide discomfort you may opt for a more long term or if possible permanent solution.Avoid using abrasive soaps .Use only mild and bland creams and soaps. If you shave ,use only sharp razors .

Keep us posted.
