Ingrown hairs or something more serious?

I have been having a problem with red, pimple like marks on my penis. I don't think it is any kind of STD because I was recently tested. It starts off as a red inflamed area that forms into a pimple like pus filled head. I've had this problem for a good while now and the marks do not go away, instead they seem to have spread from the bottom of my penis to my testicles and anus. I do normally trim my pubic hair with a trimmer, so the idea of an ingrown hair sits in my mind. If you could give me some kind professional assistance to this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Without examination,confirmation of a diagnosis is tough,but it sounds like folliculitis or infected hair follicles. Pls keep the area clean and apply some warm compresses. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful.

In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed.Pls consult a dermatologist in that case.Also then other possibilities of contact dermatitis,cysts or genital warts have to be probed.
