IngrownHair

Recently I went to my doctor to have an infected ingrown hair checked.  He has put me on mild antibiotics, and advised that I may have to get it surgically removed, involving 6 weeks off work !!!.  I am just wondering if there is any other way that it can be removed?  If the infection clears, can I try the remidy using a warm cloth and tweezers?
Thanks :-)

How are you? An ingrown hair (often called razor bumps) is a hair that curls back on itself and starts growing back into the follicle or a hair that fails to grow out of the follicle and stays embedded in the skin. If they are left untreated ingrown hairs can become infected like in your case. There are 3 types of hair removal methods which can be achieved by different techniques. The three methods of hair removal include: temporary and permanent hair removal, and temporary hair reduction.Electrolysis and laser hair removal are the only methods that may provide a permanent result. You can read more about this through this link: http://www.onlinesurgery.com/plasticsurgery/hair-removal.asp

Even if the infection clears, it would be best to refrain from too much manipulation of the affected area to prevent reinfection.
I hope this helps. Take care and keep us posted.
