Inner thigh and buttock rash

I sprained my right foot and shortly afterwards started feeling sharp pains along my inner thigh and buttock.  After a few days of pains I developed a red rash with very small blisters (similar to a heat rash) in the area of pain.  Could this be shingles?  I have no fever but the rash is contained to the right side of my body and did have a mild case of the chicken pox as a child.  I am a 36 year old female and very stressed right now.

This may be a case of shingles. It appears that there may be some nerve related problem here. I would advise that you have his assessed by your doctor so that the right medications would be prescribed you. Antiviral medications should be given within the first 48 hours of the presentation of the rash . Pain medications will also be able to help alleviate the pain. Take pain relievers as necessary. Also, keep the area clean and refrain from touching affected areas unnecessarily. This will help prevent further infections.

Other differentials may be HSV type 1 skin infection. Also, dermatitis and folliculitis may be considered.
