Irritated Urethra....clueless

Irritated Urethra....clueless

ok so about 6 months ago i had uti symptoms so i went to doctor and he gave me doxycycline to clear up any kind of infection...i never really noticed the symptoms after that except whenever i ejaculate the skin at the opening of the urethra turns red, and is sensitive, and this will last anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours. Also i noticed a lump inside so i went to a doctor a week ago and i found out it wasnt a bump and it was my urethra...he diagnosed me with  urethritis and i'm taking another 7 days of doxycycline 100 mg...the urethra isn't a big anymore but it still gets red and sensitive after ejaculation....i'm 18 years old and never had vaginal sex so i have no idea what is going on. Any ideas?

Hello,
I completely agree with your doctor that the symptoms are suggestive of urethritis. Urethritis is inflammation of the urethra. The main symptom is dysuria, which is painful or difficult urination.I would suggest you to get it evaluated from a urologist and get a swab culture of the urethra done to confirm the diagnosis.Choice of antibiotics depends on the culture sensitivity.
I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
