Irritation or STD?

Hey there, two weeks ago I had unprotected sex with a friend. Last week I noticed that my genitals and buttocks were slightly irritated when I would walk, not burning or itching or in pain, just sensitive in the area that rubbed together when walking. Last Friday, I noticed a pimple on the lower left side part of my scrotum. I get pimples on my inner left thigh pretty often. There was no fluid, and after a couple days, the pimple went down, although is still kind of present but diminishing. There were some slightly reddish, sensitive patches of skin on the shaft of my penis, and some minimal dry, flaky skin as well. Also, my buttocks appear to be a little pinker than usual, with a few small pimples that appear to have popped. No major pain, no burning during urination or anything. I'm going to a local STD clinic tomorrow to have things looked at. Any preliminary thoughts? I'm pretty nervous about this...

Hey, I wanted to update this. Went to the doctor about two weeks ago. He took a look and diagnosed it as Jock Itch, prescirbed some topical ointment for it, and said it should lear up in about five days, and to come back in ten if it wasnt clear. I am returning to the doctor tomorrow.

Things never quite cleared up, although the irritation has been substantially minimlaized if not eliminated. I can walk around comfortably without any problems.

The skin on the shaft of my penis remains reddish, not crazy red, just sort of a general red hue, like a mild sunburn. The skin doesnt feel iritated or sore, just looks red. A couple days ago i noticed a small pimple on my testicles, which wasnt poppable, just a small, painless lump, but i could feel the hard little ball under the skin that would seem to indicate a pimple.

Now it seems that has faded away and another one like it has formed. Again, these are painless, but also dont look like they'll form a poppable pimple. These are both on the left side of the scrotum. I've gotten pimples on just the left side of my inner thigh for years, many of which dont always pop, and I'm wondering if its not an extension of that.

Anyhow, returning to the doctor's tomorrow, but not sure what the cause of this could be. At this point does it look more like a superficial skin issue or more like an STD? There remains no burning during urination, or discharge.

Kinda stumped...

Hi

This may be a superficial skin infection, more likely a dermatitis or yeast infection. Your physician may prescribe you with topical antifungals and steroid preparations. I know you are worried about this but in the absence of urinary changes and penile discharge, this sounds like a superficial skin problem.

Hi.

This may be a case of folliculitis. This seems to be a likely cause when pimple like bumps appear in the groin area. As for the scaling of the skin of the penile shaft, this may be a skin reaction to a cleanser, creams or lotions that you are using. A fungal infection also needs to be ruled out here. I suggest that you have this assessed early on. An STD may not be ruled out readily given a significant sexual history. However, from the way you described the condition, this may be more of a superficial skin infection.

Is there any pain or discomfort during urination?
