Is Colitis cause from Benzaclin(benzol peroxide/clindamycin) reversable?

I too have had a similar ER situation. I have been using the BezaClin gel for over a year and did not do my research. I started with nausea and abdominal pain, and was recently rushed to the ER. I failed to mention to my doctor that I used BezaClin because I thought that a topical cream could have nothing to do with my symptoms. It turns out I have severe colitis now. It has been painful and my colon had been bleeding for weeks. I have stopped using this product and now am having the same symptoms on a smaller scale with just benzol peroxide products. I have two questions:
1. Is colitis caused by benzol peroxide/ clindamycin reversible?
2. Is there an equally effective topical medication for acne that does not have a side effect of colitis?

This discussion is related to Benzaclin and diarreah (diarrhea).
