Is Leukoderma

I am 23 years old married women from India.
I have got white patches on my Legs, Thigh and Back since last 6 months.I have been diagnosed by Doctor and he says it is Vitliglo. I want to know whether Vitliglo and Leukoderma the same. And whether it is completely curable or not.
Also Kindly recommend me the precautions I should take.

"Leukoderma" is a term which means, "white skin."  There are other causes for white skin, but vitiligo is the most common.  Its cause is not known.  Treatment is very difficult.  Generally, exposure to ultraviolet light, either natural or artificial, is attempted.  Treatment may take a long time.  Areas which can't be covered can be camouflaged with makeup, if appearance is embarrassing.  You should talk with a skin doctor about treatment options.
