Is it Psoriasis?

Is it Psoriasis?

4796931?1251007632
I've had some kind of rash on my chest for about two years now. It's red and blotchy, when it's dry it's sort of silvery and now a lot of the skin around it is getting silvery and flakey. When I sweat, the rash gets itchy and if I itch it the skin comes off? (I don't know how to describe this, but it's like itching a peeling sunburn after you get out of the shower, the skin comes off under your nails?)

Anyway, psoriasis runs in my family (my dad has it pretty bad) so I'm thinking it's that because it just won't go away. I don't think just a rash would last this long?

Hello,
I would suggest you to get psoriasis ruled out. Psoriasis is a long-term (chronic) skin problem that causes skin cells to grow too quickly, resulting in thick, white, silvery, or red patches of skin.It is thought that psoriasis occurs when the immune system overreacts, causing inflammation and flaking of skin.

Exactly what it is can be confirmed only after consulting a dermatologist. So please get it done.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
