Is my areola normal

Is my areola normal

I am a 32 year old married woman with no children.

In my teenage years I suffered from heavy eczema and asthma. In terms of eczema I had breast eczema when i was young which left a scar on my left breast areola area. The scar hasn't really changed and I keep an eye on it. But in the last two years I have seen the rise of small bumps on my areola. They are brown the same colour as my areola but a little bit more bumpy in my left areola in comparison to my right areola.

I have had them checked by two doctors and I do a breast self examination every two weeks. Should I get an ultra sound done? Should I ask for a biopsy? Both gps think I dont need one but i need a third opinion i guess.

Hello,
It is normal to found bumps on the areola and since you are having it more on one of the areolas, so it can be left as such. But if you want, it can be biopsied under the guidance of an expert dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
