Hi,

I know you are highly anxious about this. Psoriasis has an underlying genetic and immune cause and the mechanism behind this disease condition is quite complex. There are various forms and types of psoriasis and the skin condition is chronic. That is it lasts for a long time. You  may have a series of flares or eruptions now and then depending on certain stressors or triggers.

The lesions (allow me to call them lesions ) of psoriasis results in thickening of the outer layer of the skin or epidermis. This is because psoriasis affects the proliferation of skin cells by shortening this phase. This leads to scaling and reddening of the affected areas. Scraping off the scales may lead to bleeding of the involved areas.

Psoriasis has been shown to be associated with certain cancers specifically lymphoma but this is just an association and does not mean that having psoriasis will actually lead to developing cancer of the lymph nodes in the future. The risk is relatively low.(http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/news/20031117/psoriasis-may-increase-cancer-risk)

Psoriasis may involve the genitalia ,the nails and the scalp. I suggest that you seek consult with your dermatologist with regards to this.

Are you keeping close consult with a physician?
