For a few years now I have been getting bumpy skin on the upper part of both my arms. This last year those those small white bumps have turned into what looks like pimples. I use St. Ives oatmeal & shea butter body wash and Eucerin Intensive Lotion right after I take my shower. I do have "brown" skin if that factors into anything. I am half phillipino and got the wonderful pigmentation
from my father. Before I had my son in 2006 it was just small white bumps like I had goosebumps but after having my son they have turned into what looks like pimples.
What exactly is this?? What can I do about it without going to a dermatologist??? Recommended treatments for home would be greatly appreciated also!!
condition that comes to mind is keratosis pilaris. This skin condition occurs over the arms especially on the back of the arms. Even the lower extremities
over the surface. The cause of this is not known. In some cases, the skin reverts to normal after a long time ( years). I suggest that you ave this assessed by your physician. Pregnancy may alter hormonal balance which may affect skin conditions. Dry skin may cause some mild scaling and irritation which may be mistaken for bumps.
Mild exfoliation may be recommended at this point.
