Is this a wart?

by k2mike, Mar 12, 2006 12:00AM
I recently developed a bump on the shaft of my penis that began as a red bump and then looked like it turned into a pimple.  I do remeber that I shaved in that region...could this have irritated it, causing inflamation (inflammation)?  I thought it may be an ingrown hair because after the "pimple" burst, there was a hole in the center where I could see what looked like a white hair...is this a wart?  I had recently engaged in unprotected sex, but my girlfriend just went to the gyno and she said the gyno did not find anything.  The bump has almost completely gone away...I don't recall any puss.  I have had a genital wart before and the doctor used a topical medicine that removed it.  Right now, it is virtually gone, but I see what looks like a raised bump.  Without an embarrissing trip to the doctor, is there any way to treat this?  Any help would be appreciated!

I don't think this was a wart/  It didn't look like a wart, it had a hair in it, it went away, and so on.  As for a trip to the doctor, why should that be embarrassing?  It's normal and expected for people to worry about new things on their skin, especially the genitals.   Check it out.  But don't pick at it first, so the doctor can tell.

Best.

I just went to the doctors a few minutes ago because of a pump that appeared on my vagina that I have had for a while and always thought it will go away but it hasn't since nov. and so I went today and she told me that it was simply a skin tag and I told her that well my partner he has pumps on the rim of his  penish head and they told him that it was Genital Warts well thats strange because he has been faithful and he only got them after we had a sexual relationships and so I was wondering

Questions?
1. Is this genital warts?
2. Did I contract them to him?
3. And can I be cured if it is just a simpl skin tag?
4. why do skin tags irriate?
5. Should I go to a second doctor for a second oppinion?
