As you are itching all over, have you changed your washing detergent recently or any washing products, soaps shower gels?  Or been in contact with any plants?

Spots and itching on the skin, if your temperature is fluctuating, can also indicate that your body is fighting a infection somewhere.
Have you been bitten or scratched at all?

The one mark on your photograph looks like a little long line, this can indicate scabies.

I suggest you go back to your doctor for a diagnosis.

I had an itchy skin rash for four years that wouldn't go away.  Finally, I stopped microwaving my food and started taking multivitamins, zinc, vitamin C and echinacea daily; within a couple of months, the rash started to disappear.

Possibly a neurodermatitis.
Cheers.

Hi Sam,

Itching can be a sign of many different things. The first question that I might ask is what your diet is like. Do you know what genetically modified organisms are (GMOs)? Are they in your diet? If you are eating foods that are processed, have multiple ingredients, contain soy, corn, canola oil, these would be foods that have been genetically modified. Sugar, is now a genetically modified ingredient and comes from beets, yet they never give you the source of sugar ingredients on labels. Also, ingredients labeled with names like maltodextrin, fructose and any other name that doesn't describe a real food, are likely to be genetically modified or extremely bad for you. One thing research has shown is that GMOs can lead to severe histamine (allergic) reactions...itching. The few studies done have shown catastrophic health consequences. Few people think about this but if you are eating fast foods or out in restaurants, you are eating most likely GMOs.

If it were me having your problem and unable to find an answer, diet is the first place I would look. Food is medicine, therefore I would do a detoxification diet with a lot of juicing using organic vegetables only. I would eliminate sugar, bread and alcohol from the diet completely for at least a month to see if it made any difference.

I have Morgellons disease—and am not suggesting that you have it, but one of the symptoms is itching all over the body. It can present with rashes or lesions in some people that itch very badly. There are a host of other symptoms that go along with Morgellons and if you are interested in knowing more you can look at some of my other posts on that subject or Google Morgellons disease awareness.

I'm only mentioning the Morgellons because I was able to become symptom-free using diet and supplements. I had a fantastic nutritionist who works with functional medicine testing, which are not tests your doctor will run. Typically, doctors of integrative medicine and alternative practitioners use this testing to get an overall metabolic snapshot of what is going on in the body, then weaknesses can be addressed. If you cannot get a diagnosis then I suggest going to a Naturopath, but first I would work with diet to see if you can turn things around.

There is a fantastic video that I try to follow as a model for how I eat. Tedtalk Dr. Terry Wahls. Dr. Wahls healed her MS with this diet and she was crippled in a wheelchair, so there is something to be said for food as medicine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLjgBLwH3Wc&feature=share

This is a short video on some of the effects they found from a two-year study of GMOs. I'd also suggest renting Jeffrey Smith's documentary, Genetic Roulette – The movie

Hello, thank you for the information I am aware of the itching possible due to a liver problem however my dr told me that my blood tests were fine and the only reason I knew that they were elevated was the fact that I work in a hospital so a colleague was able to look at my results, I'm unsure why my doctor noted the results as satisfactory!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Raised ALT levels are indicative of liver disease and itching all over the body is found in liver disease. Important causes for elevated SGPT are viral hepatitis B and C, fatty liver, certain hepatotoxic drugs, and autoimmune liver diseases. Please get yourself evaluated for these conditions from a physician.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
