Is this yeast infection on penis?

Age: 23

One week ago, I made love with my girl friend, after that, I found she had some white scretion in her vagina. I asked her to have a check-in and the result turned out to be yeast infection. 2 days later, I felt a little itching on my foreskin, not very serious. No white secretion, no sting, no smell, just a little itching and red. I went to doctor and he told me it's just dermatitis after contacting my girlfriend. He gave me Desonide Ointment and said there is nothing to worry. It has been a week and I am still feeling a little itching, no better no worse seems.

My question is:

1. I checked online and got that many male don't have serious sympton even if infected yeast from female. But they are catcher and when resistence gets low the disease outbreak, also though no sympton, it's infective. I am afraid I  already got that just it's not so bad now. I also don't want to infect others.

2. Does Desonide Ointment work for male yeast infection? Should I use some medicine for colpitis?

i had candida yeast infection for 2 months. was diagnosed 1 month ago. till not still not recovered.
Might go seek second opionion from another doc.

what were your symptoms for a candida yeast infection?  i think i may be having one based on what I read
