Itching Skin from head to toe

Ive had itching skin all over for a few months now. I get intense itching and when i scratch small bumps show up. I scratch until i break the skin and causes scabbing. my boyfriend has the same itching but his is always present in small red dots all over his body. Ive been to two differnt doctors and they dont know what it is. One doctor gave me cream to treat scabies but they said that it is presented strangly if that is what is it. the lotion didnt seem to help at all. I cant get a dermatologist appt for another month and am wondering if anyone has any answers?!!

Thank you for your suggestions. I will try switching those things and see if anything helps! And thank you for the information about internal diseases, I'll see what I can get figured out :)

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Skin conditions like psoriasis, dermatitis, scabies and hives, internal diseases like liver and kidney disorders, diabetes, iron deficiency anemia, irritation and allergic reactions to chemicals, wool, soaps, cosmetics and certain foods  can cause itchy skin.

You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area. Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl or Claritin can also be used. You should take a comfortably cool bath and wear smooth-textured cotton clothing. You should choose mild soaps without dyes or perfumes and use a mild, unscented laundry detergent when washing clothes, towels and bedding. Also apply calamine ltion and mild steroid cream on the itchy areas.

Pls take a second opinion from a dermatologist if the symptoms persist. He/She will start with the specific medications. If an internal disease is found, whether it's kidney disease, iron deficiency or a thyroid problem, treating that disease often relieves the itch.Lastly,Phototherapy can also be tried.

I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
