Itching

by Nswygert, Mar 16, 2008 01:03AM
Since 2002 I have had a rash on my back, arms and stomach.  I itch, and red bumps leave scars and tiny blood spots on my clothes amd sheets.  I have been to several doctors.  One said it was a fungus, one said it was a bacterial infection.
I feel different than I used to, tired, depressed and uninterested in everything.

This discussion is related to can't stop itching.

Hi,

How would you describe your rash?

Is this flat or elevated?

Is this always present or do certain factors like food, weather, temperature and certain exercises trigger them?

Are they scaly or shiny? Do they ulcerate? Do they scab?

What comes into mind at this point is a dermatitis,an allergic reaction,an atypical psoriatic presentation  and a fungal infection. This has been present for quite some time so we should be thinking of a condition that recurs .I would understand if the presence of this rash has caused you much discomfort.I suggest you ask your dermatologist if a skin biopsy be done to give a definite assessment. Blood tests for BUN and Creatinine to check kidney function, CRP,ESR and ASO titers may be assessed.
